There’s no question that our country appears to be in financial straits. Overspending, money mismanagement, and greed have all certainly undermined a once healthy American economy. One can be sure that when basic principles of good financial stewardship are ignored for short term gain, tragedy will soon be looming. Law is law. If you violate basic economic principles, there will always be a price to pay.
A healthy body is achieved in much the same way as a healthy individual or national financial portfolio. There are no shortcuts. If you violate natural law, you lose. If you shortcut the bodies natural immune system development (burning fevers, coughing, sneezing, diarrhea, vomiting, shivering, etc.) for short term comfort (ie. ‘cold’ medications), you lose. The immune system will not develop properly, the nerve system becomes drained of life-force & organs weaken; now set up for sickness, disease, & early death. Try to lower cholesterol levels with a drug shortcut…you will lose by paying dearly with life threatening side-effects. The same applies to short term patch fixes with blood pressure medications, pain relievers, antidepressants, acid-reflux medications, thyroid drugs, weight loss drugs, heart stints, etc.; all short-term fixes with devastating long-term consequences. You’ll eventually find yourself in health bankruptcy court. You cannot fool a nation into thinking that it’s financially healthy by borrowing more money. And you certainly cannot fool your body into thinking that it’s healthy by removing symptoms or cutting out organs.
Just like the financial institutions of our country have enslaved Americans with crazy mortgages and high credit card debt, so have the pharmaceutical companies caused devastating long-term damage to the health of our nation. Big Pharma is slowly doing what the financial institutions have already achieved. They have literally destroyed the health of our nation by selling quick fix solutions for billions of dollars in profit. Big Pharma has been ultra-successful in shackling the American psyche. They have been masterful in getting them to believe that quick fix drug therapy is the solution to their health problems. Is it any wonder that the United States of America has consistently been ranked as the sickest & fattest industrialized nation in the world?
It’s interesting to note that while visiting Paris last week, I had a conversation with an American heart doctor and his wife. I explained that the newest research has shown that fish oil works better at preventing heart attacks and death from heart attacks than the statin drugs used to lower cholesterol. I was curious to know what they thought of this research since part of the heart doctor’s job is prescribing cholesterol lowering drugs. Their answer was both interesting and scary. They responded by admitting the research was true, but their sentiment: you’ll never get people to eat fish or take fish oil supplements regularly. Well, my thought was maybe their choices would be different if American citizens were educated about the benefits of fish oil/fish instead of seeing billions of dollars worth of pharmaceutical commercials educating them on drugs. You have to realize that drug companies are banking on the fact that Americans remain stupid, lazy, and uninformed and continue to take their drugs. They are not interested in empowering people to make better healthcare decisions for themselves and their families. There are just like the thousands of financial institutions who were banking on the public being naïve and uninformed when it came to their homes, cars, credit cards, and investments. “Just do what we tell you to do,” is their montra. Big Pharma is threatened by independent, free-thinking humans who control their own destinys (ie. fish oil supplements). They’re threatened by intelligence and empowered thinking. They seek to control and steer the destiny and direction of human health for their own monetary benefit.
